Eco-Friendly White Ceiling Paint: Graphenstone Naturcolor Emulsion and Primer

Discover the benefits of Graphenstone’s Naturcolor, a striking, ultra-white matte emulsion ideal for professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike. This eco-friendly paint is perfect for use as a "mist coat" or primer on new plaster and lime surfaces, making it a versatile choice for your next painting project.

Usage and Application

  • Naturcolor is designed for application on a variety of surfaces, including plaster, gypsum, brick, and even old paint.
  • Commonly referred to as “contract matt” by tradespeople, it serves as an excellent first coat for bare gypsum plaster.
  • Additionally, it acts as a cost-effective foundation under any of Graphenstone's interior wall paints.
  • Not only can Naturcolor be used as a primer, but it can also serve as a finish coat in low-traffic interior spaces.
  • Depending on the underlying colour, you may need to apply two to four coats for optimal results.
  • It has a wash resistance classification of Class 2, making it suitable for areas that may experience light cleaning.

Key Benefits

  • Suitable for both interior and exterior applications (exterior use limited to priming)
  • Exceptional covering power
  • Low Sheen and Flat Matte finish
  • Very Low VOC content (< 0.1 %/l)
  • Breathable properties (Class 1 - Sd <0.14)
  • Fire-rated: Class 0, B-s1, d0
  • Durable and long-lasting
  • Free from formaldehyde, enhancing indoor air quality
  • Good washability with a Class 2 rating
  • Strong adhesion to various substrates
  • Quick drying time: 2-4 hours between coats, fully dry in 24 hours, and fully cured in 30 days

Coverage

14-20m2 per litre (sold as a concentrate; dilute 10-15% with water before use). At least two coats are typically necessary.

Preparation

  • Before applying Naturcolor, ensure that mineral substrates are at least 28 days old and can withstand high alkalinity. If unsure, conduct a test application.
  • Avoid using it on surfaces that are frequently exposed to water.
  • For any projects with strict aesthetic expectations, preliminary testing is recommended.

To prepare for painting:

  1. Ensure your surface is clean, dry, and sound.
  2. For surfaces with salt deposits, treat with Graphenstone Neutralysal Premium.
  3. For high moisture areas, use Graphenstone StopWater Premium.
  4. Sand glossy surfaces lightly to create a key for better adhesion, and eliminate any flaking paint.

Mixing

  1. For the perfect consistency, mix Naturcolor with water, diluting it to about 10-15% of the total weight (approximately 150-200 ml of water per litre).
  2. Stir gently to avoid bubbles.
  3. Apply 2 to 3 even coats using a roller, brush, or airless spray gun. Note: Applying too much product in layers may lead to micro-cracks.
