Description

Discover the natural earthy tone of Yellow Ochre, a mineral pigment that imparts a gentle yellow hue when combined with limewash. These mineral-based colours are known for their soft hues and subtle pastel tones, even at higher concentrations. Remember that pigmented finishes will appear lighter once dried than their initial mixture due to the properties of limewash. If you require a stronger yellow, we recommend Yellow Iron Oxide.

We recommend conducting tests to ensure desired results.

Key Features:

- Made from natural mineral pigment

- Exceptional UV resistance

- Stable against lime and cement surfaces

- Non-toxic and eco-friendly

*Note: Our listed volume measurements are approximate; we measure by weight for accuracy.* The corresponding weights for Yellow Ochre (193) are:

- 250ml – 130 grams

- 1 litre – 520 grams

- 10 litres – 5.2 kilograms

Preparation Tips:

To achieve optimal color uniformity, mix the dry pigment with warm water to form a slurry before blending into limewash. This prevents dry pigment pockets, which can cause uneven colouring. Add the slurry to your lime mixture and stir thoroughly.

Mixing Ratios:

Combine one 25kg container of mature lime putty with around 25 litres of water to produce roughly 45 litres of limewash. For consistent colouration, limit dry pigment to no more than 2 litres (about 5% of the volume) to preserve lime strength. The darker tone in the sample photo results from adding the maximum pigment amount (5% by volume) to a limewash with a creamy consistency. Using less pigment results in lighter shades. You can blend different pigments from our limewash collection to craft a custom palette.

Application Coverage:

Applying 10 litres of limewash will typically cover 30-40 square meters per coat, with 3 to 5 coats recommended for initial application. Coverage varies based on application method and surface texture.
